THE latest MORI poll for The Times lays bare the catastrophic position of the Conservatives and their leader, Mr William Hague. Even amid some severe embarrassments for the Government, voters make it plain that they feel no interest in listening to Mr Hague or his party. Forget Northerners or Labour followers - even loyal Tories in the South-East of England care little for the Opposition or its people. It is a sorry picture, which can only fuel Tory backbenchers' increasingly feverish search for an alternative leader. Ambitious young Conservative MPs see years stretching ahead of them divorce...
