Materials

* old blue jeans

* scissors

* needle and thread

* large button or bead for purse closure

* piece of ribbon, shoe lace, elasticized cord, etc. for purse closure

* old belt (optional for shoulder strap)

* some of the following to decorate the purse: ribbon, buttons, patches, labels from jeans, fabric paint, beads, scraps of cloth

Step 1

Find an old pair of jeans. (Look in thrift shops and garage sales if you don't have any at home.) Check to make sure you can use the jeans before you cut -- they may be someone's favourite worn-out pair! With an adult's help, cut the back poc...
