Philip Levine, an immigrant baker's son who rose from technician in a steel plant to senior executive in the New England steel industry, died at Massachusetts General Hospital Monday after being struck by a van while crossing Massachusetts Avenue Sunday evening. He was buried yesterday in New York City at the age of 64. A resident of the Back Bay for the past 10 years, Mr. Levine was attempting to cross at Marlborough Street at 8:40 p.m. with Carol, his wife of 44 years, when he was hit.
