Ellen Naum Petro, 96, a former resident of Syracuse and Cazenovia, died Sunday, September 25, 2005. Born in Bitusha, in what is now Macedonia, on January 18, 1909, she emigrated to the United States with her parents, as a young child and settled in Syracuse. The oldest of eight children, she remained close to her siblings her whole life.
She married Paul Petro on September 27, 1927. They celebrated 65 years of marriage before his passing October 1992. They had two sons, Col. Peter Petro who predeceased her in August 1996, and William Paul Petro. She was ...
