When Wendt's Dairy, Niagara Falls, N.Y., installed a new pasteurizing system in June 1998, the decision was made to include an automatic milk standardizing system. Company officials wanted "the controls for the pasteurizer and standardizing system talk to each other, so that when the operator enters the product for the pasteurizer, this also sets the standardizing system," says Plant Engineer Brian Ziemendorf.
