Robert B. Parker has launched a couple of new mystery series featuring Jesse Stone, North Shore policeman and recovering alcoholic, and Sunny Randall, a feisty female shamus. But he remains as loyal to Spenser as his readers do. Spenser's new adventure departs from Parker's patented formula, but then most of the good ones have. Spenser doesn't cook this time and doesn't spend much time in Boston restaurants. In fact, Boston is not the primary venue.
