Police and city leaders hope residents will help thwart a fear of crime after several violent incidents rocked Malden over the last two months. An Anti-Crime Advisory Committee, to be made up of citizens, will be appointed soon by the City Council's Public Safety Committee. Although its not yet known how many people will serve, the goal is to get broad support from neighborhoods across Malden, officials said.
