Procter & Gamble is reducing freight costs with the Automatic Vehicle Load Building (Auto VLB) system from Warehouse Optimization, Franklin, TN, to plan optimally loaded shipments from time-phased customer or DC requirements.
"In our operations, Auto VLB has saved more than 7 percent on replenishment freight and reduced the need for manual intervention," says Gregg Schwerdt, P & G's beauty care distribution manager.
