JAMES ROSS, chairman of the Littlewoods Organisation, was at pains to re-iterate yesterday that a stock market flotation is not on the company's agenda. Given profits are going through the floor we can safely assume that he is right. But public listing or not, the 30- plus members of the Moores family which controls the Liverpool-based empire are finding plenty of other ways to steadily cash in their inheritance.
It is only three years since Littlewoods paid over pounds 200m back to the Moores shareholders after selling 19 stores to Marks & Spencer at the top of the market (Liverpool 1 M&S 0)...
