In my remarks to the 2006 Annual General Meeting in June, I described the past year as a tough year but a good year for the Canadian Library Association. It was a tough year because CLA took on new projects and initiatives despite inadequate resources, which took a toll on volunteers and staff alike; it was a good year because we accomplished projects and moved initiatives forward and at the same time turned a $57,000 budget deficit into a modest surplus.
