Monarch Notes 01-01-1963 The Song of Solomon Introduction. The true title of this lovely work is "The Song of Songs" - i.e., "The most beautiful of all songs." The nature of the "Song" has been disputed for centuries. There was opposition to its inclusion in the Canon, because of its secular content; besides, as in Esther, the name of God is not mentioned.
