For the many Germans who were happily sure that Prussia with its "blood and iron" tradition was dead, this summer is proving unsettling. Bad enough, the Prussia-fearers say, that the Bundestag and government agreed last month to shift to Berlin, Bismarck's (and Hitler's) capital. Then came the revelation that the newly-restored statue of the victory goddess atop the Brandenburg gate was to carry the Prussian eagle and iron cross for the first time in decades. Now there is a lot of what critics call unseemly ballyhoo over the reburial next month of Frederick the Great, Prussia's warrior king....
