In the eyes of the oil and gas industry, Gov. Kathleen Blanco is making the state a more hospitable place.
The industry has long complained that a maze-like permitting process for coastal zone drilling, high fees and talk of an oil and gas processing tax-combined with a take-it-or-leave-it attitude on the part of some state officialshave undermined exploration in South Louisiana.
Blanco seems to have heard their complaints.
