LADY FRETWELL, whose campaign helped end years of quarantine misery with the introduction of the Passport for Pets scheme, is being presented with an OBE by the Queen at Buckingham Palace tomorrow.
Since Lady Fretwell's campaign bore fruit a year ago today, nearly 20,000 pets have come into Britain without having to endure the antiquated kennel system.
The success of the scheme will be demonstrated at Crufts at the NEC in Birmingham next month when nearly 100 foreign dogs will participate in the show for the first time.
