In February last year KPMG Consulting successfully launched an IPO, making it the first Big Five consultant to go public (Accenture soon followed).Then, in the wake of September 11, it found renewed interest in JNET (Justice Network), a network linking 16 states' criminal records and FBI databases that KPMG had created for Pennsylvania and then governor Tom Ridge.
