Investors have punished one of the retail sectors stars: catalogue retailer N Brown. The shares fell by 26 per cent as the company admitted that this years profits would be down by 5 per cent.
The companys main autumn/winter catalogue, aimed at core middle-aged customers, has been disappointing. Ironically, the relative strength of the high street, especially during the January sales, has also hurt N Brown.
