N BROWN, the home-shopping group that clothes older women, is eyeing a number of potential acquisitions following its thwarted offer for Sears last year, writes Helen Slingsby.
"We have our eye on one or two companies but aren't talking to anyone at the moment," said chief executive Jim Martin. Analysts reckon Martin could be looking at smaller independent catalogue groups with a view to branching out of its 50-plus female age group.
