Seattle -- John Muhammad was looking for something solid and steady.
He looked for it in the regimen of a military career and the self- discipline of exercise, karate and Islam. He looked in the bonds of marriage, in the obedient eyes of children, even in a new name. He looked from Washington to Tacoma, Wash.; from Antigua to Iraq.
