If Mr. Lister owes you money or merchandise, you'll have to get it back from a bankruptcy court, company founder Tim Maloney said Friday.
Maloney's company, Mr. Markdown LLC, which includes the retail business called Mr. Lister, will file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation, Maloney said.
Officials at U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Utica said they had not seen the paperwork as of Friday afternoon. Maloney said the timing of the filing is up to his lawyer.
