Is it me? Or are today's children obsessed with money? I was bemused to receive a letter from my third grader's school the other day, informing parents that a staffer from one of Boston's leading banks would be conducting a six-part teaching unit on money. This innocent prospecting effort includes a visit to a bank branch, a brief history of money and even some information on foreign exchange. I told my son to ask for free samples, so far without result. One can only imagine the parental brouhaha if the school invited a rabbi to discuss Judaism for six hours, or a Catholic priest, or a Protest...
