Imagine Stephen King devoting himself to warm, sudsy schmaltz instead of cold, hokey horror, and there you have Mitch Albom, master of pop literature of the quicker-picker-upper variety. Skeptics may scoff -- indeed, are duty-bound to scoff -- but one has to concede a certain primal emotional appeal to such Albominations as "Five People You Meet in Heaven," airing as a three-hour drama special tomorrow night on ABC.
