Several errors in "Blame Pilate, Not the Jews" [op-ed, April 25] indicate that T. R. Reid's knowledge of his subject matter--the supposed antisemitism of the Catholic Good Friday service--does not go deeper than the ideological. First, there is no "litany" in that service. Reid evidently confuses "litany" with "liturgy." Second, the version of the passion story read aloud on Good Friday is not "drawn primarily" from Chapters 18 and 19 of John's Gospel. It is those chapters of John's Gospel verbatim. Third, nowhere does John say that "the Jews did it." Reid bases his argument on a misquotation ...
