My recommendation: Find out when intermission ends and show up then. The only information you need from the first act of Misalliance is that John Tarleton, white-haired head of a successful underwear company, has funded free libraries. Everything else in the interminable first act is either easily sussed out or irrelevant to the bizarre and extremely entertaining second act of this peculiar play by the persnickety British playwright George Bernard Shaw.
