The halls of Geneva Middle School were filled with archers, stately maidens, knights and plague-infested peasants Friday.
About 430 seventh-graders donned homemade and rented medieval garb to cap off a learning section on the middle ages. The day-long Medieval Fair and Feast included music, dancing, contests and a visit by a pint-sized pope.
Some were kings who gave orders for thieves to be taken to prison. Some were peasant children whose entire family had died from the black plague. There was even a pope and patriarch.
