Policy must recognize tyranny for what it is

In the recent Aug. 8 editorial "Saudi Arabia, friend or foe," there is an overlying idea that lacks emphasis, and perhaps holds a key in deciphering many pieces of the current Mideast puzzle. That idea is often glossed over in many analyses of foreign countries' motives.
