With an estimated 2,300 job plating shops in the U.S. and an additional 5,000 to 7,000 captive shops and overhaul facilities performing plating and finishing operations, it is not surprising that there is a need for a variety of specialized stripping processes capable of removing metallic coatings.
Highly specialized coatings such as low-temperature alloys on electroformed parts, flame spray coatings, anodized coatings, copper/nickel/chromium on plastic, and engineering brazing alloys require very specialized removal technologies.
