To the Editor:

In his recent letter, author Larry Williams chides a previous letter writer for mis-attributing two quotes to a pair of prominent Republican presidents - Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt - to support some ideological point.

He follows by "accurately" quoting Mark Twain as follows: "It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so." I made a living using this quotation for years as a quality engineer.
