A St. Mary's County grand jury last week accused a Lexington Park man of stealing some of the construction materials at the center of a missing-property controversy in the sheriff's office, issuing an indictment that could affect two lawsuits against the county. Wendell I. Ford, his wife, Erica, and two others were arrested Thursday night and Friday morning on charges of felony theft in a 1998 string of burglaries in the Lexington Park area, said St. Mary's Sheriff David D. Zylak (D). The sheriff said that Ford turned himself in around midnight, and the others were arrested without resistance....
