LITTLE is pleasing in the idea of celebrities writing biographies of their unfamous parents. At best it smacks of self-indulgence; at worst it opens the door to embarassing public displays of psychoanalysis. On the face of it, Mum-and-Dad bios are a genre that should be nipped in the bud quickly. That said, Germaine Greer and Carl Bernstein have produced two irritatingly good books.
