GIRARD, Ill. - Louisa M. Mowbray, 80, died peacefully May 28, 2008, at Pleasant Hill Village Nursing Home in Girard, Ill., as a result of complications from Alzheimer's disease. Born in Lonsdale, R.I., to the late Charles Byron and Mary Gilbert, she was predeceased by her husband of 31 years, Arthur, as well as her son Wayne. Louisa was one of 13 children; most of her brothers and sisters have also predeceased her.

Louisa was raised in Rhode Island and lived there until she moved to Portsmouth in 1950. As a Navy wife, she moved frequently throughout the States and to Hawaii in the 1950s and...
