Every extra pound in the body of a light truck is a pound that must be subtracted from the payload. That makes shaving needless weight from the truck body a priority.
To meet that challenge, design company V.N. Automoveis of Portugal made three changes affecting the body design it developed for Isuzu light trucks. The company changed the body from conventional to high-strength steel, used a new technically advanced design, and switched to a more advanced welding method.
