Berlin, Germany -- Over breakfast, on the first day of our Christian-Muslim dialogue here, my Shiite Muslim friend, Hiam Halaoui El Mawla, a teacher in a Protestant school in Lebanon, said that her mother's long hospitalization and death over the summer had changed her life.
