A jeweled city in the desert of Nevada, Las Vegas is known as The Entertainment Capital of the World. Brimming with fun and games, it attracts over 38 million visitors a year.

In the mid-1800's, the discovery of precious minerals led to the start of the mining industry in the West. The completion of the railway between Utah and California established Las Vegas as a railroad town. Founded in 1905-when the railroad bought the area and auctioned off the land-it became the seat of Clark County by 1909. TWo years later, it officially became an incorporated city.
