Byline: Mark Weiner Staff writer A plan for a recreation trail looping around Onondaga Lake will move a big step closer to completion this spring. Workers this week finished paving the new West Shore Trail of Onondaga Lake, a $600,000 project to transform a two-mile, wooded stretch of previously unpaved nature trails. When the new trail opens the week of June 17, visitors will find a 10-foot-wide asphalt surface accessible to joggers, bikers, hikers, in-line skaters and people with disabilities, said Robert Geraci, Onondaga County's parks commissioner.
