Plano, Texas -- L. Sprague de Camp, who penned more than 100 science fiction and fantasy books and contributed to stories about the fictional character "Conan the Barbarian," died Monday following complications from a stroke. He was 92.
Although lesser known than some of his peers, de Camp was a strong influence on the science fiction genre.
