VT Halter Marine Inc, Pascagoula, Miss., part of VT Systems Inc, has inked a contract to build two 230 ft x 56 ft x 18 ft platform supply vessels for L & M Botruc Rental Inc. The contract is valued at between $45-$55 million.
VT Halter Marine will begin building the two platform supply vessels (PSV's) in the second quarter of 2008. Both are scheduled for delivery in 2010.
Each PSV will be used to carry supplies, deck cargo, and drilling fluids used in the support of exploration and offshore production of energy sources....
