Jurassic Park.

About 3 pages (833 words)

National Review, July 19th, 1993

FRANKLY, I don't give a damn about dinosaurs, perhaps because I'm one myself But next to swapping baseball cards, nothing seems to me as bootless as becoming a dinosaur maven. For a layman, that is; savants are free to mix it up with the giant saurians. I thrill to a Lexus or Volvo, but for a brace of Velociraptors or a prime Tyrannosaurus Rex I reck not. Which is not to say that one cannot marvel at Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park for its conspicuous technical achievements; but I agree with Orson Welles's remark, "The directors I admire most are the least technical ones."
