The Alaskan folk muffin known as Jewel probably gets a little too much heat for her waifish eccentricities. If Walt Whitman were alive and pinned in the glare of media scrutiny, his poses and behavior would probably appear just as . . . special -- or different.
Of course, if Whitman were alive and touring, his ticket probably wouldn't read "Tommy Hilfiger Presents" above his name; a ticket for Jewel's Saturday night show at the Marcus Amphitheater did. Someone who claims to be completely soulful and spiritual might understand that fashion and karma blend poorly.
