In my family, we couldn't mow the lawn on Sunday. We couldn't sign up for sports or activities involving regular Sunday practices. And we couldn't wear blue jeans in church.
I never had a problem with not mowing the lawn on Sunday -- turning down an officially approved excuse for not doing chores was never one of my faults. And I grew to appreciate my parents' insistence on no regular Sunday activities, especially after a driver's licence meant my across-town friends were no longer inaccessible.
But I don't agree with the rule about blue jeans.
