Antigone is undoubtedly the Sophoclean play that has inspired the greatest number of imitations and interpretations in European dramatic literature. It is based on one of the most important Greek myths. Jacques Nichet, director of the Théâtre National de Toulouse, has just staged a version of the original. His production was presented in Paris, at the Théâtre de l'Odéon aux Ateliers Berthier from May 14 until June 12, 2004 , after its creation at the Théâtre National de Toulouse MidiPyrénées on April 20.
