A service has been held for Charles D. Jacobus Sr., president of a company that includes Jacobus Quickflash, a heating oil supplier to thousands of homes in southeastern Wisconsin.

A leader in state and national petroleum fields, he was a past president of the Wisconsin Petroleum Association and a former member of the executive board of the National Fuel Oil Institute. Jacobus, of Elm Grove, died Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital of leukemia. He was 70.

The company was founded by his father, Delwin C. Jacobus, as a coal, hardware and feed business in 1919 in the "village" section of Wauwatosa....
