The extraordinary success of Dances with Wolves no doubt will make it easier for Ishi, a movie gearing up for production, to gain attention. Heralded as the first truly Native American theatrical feature, it is being produced, written and directed by a threesome, two of them Indians: George Burdeau (Blackfeet) and Larry Littlebird (Pueblo). All Indian characters will be portrayed by Indians and the crew will consist mainly of Indians.
