A resurgence of ideas and interest is taking place in the sociology of culture and the sociology of religion. However, there seems to be a lack of cooperation and effort between the two disciplines to interact and share developments taking place in each other's area of interest. An integral aspect in the study of culture is the structure of the cultural object, and religion can be treated as a particular kind of cultural object which can be interpreted and manipulated in various settings.
