Aquarius Platinum (South Africa) Ltd. has acquired three platinum prospects from Impala Platinum in exchange for a 25.5% equity stake. Aquarius Platinum (South Africa) had been the 100%-owned South African subsidiary of Aquarius Platinum, Perth, Australia.
The most advanced of the acquired prospects, Everest South, hosts an unclassified resource of 34.7M nit, grading 4.0 g/mt PGMs, with the potential to produce a total of about 4.45M-oz PGMs. Everest South is located near Lydenburg in the Eastern Bushveld and has already been the subject of a positive scoping study by Implats.
