* While budget cuts will slow GDP growth from last year's 6%, stronger exports should keep it above 4% to 2010 and cut the current account deficit from 2009. External payment pressure will be eased by promised write-off of US$1.4bn of IDB debt, on condition that the savings are channelled to social programmes.
* But the National Association of Metals, grouping most big mine operators, predicts investment stagnation this year (despite rising exports) if the state pursues planned resource law changes to raise ownership and tax claims on grounds of private mines' prese...
