A history of intrauterine curettage has been thought to be associated with an increased risk of placental complications in subsequent pregnancies [1,2 ]. The mechanism by which previous intrauterine curettage predisposes a woman toward placental complications could be explained by possible endometrial damage during curettage, which then impedes successful implantation of the placenta. In this study, we examined the relation between a history of intrauterine curettage and placental complications: placenta previa, placenta accreta, and placental abruption.
