Despite the Whitewater affair, the suspiciously profitable commodities trading and the ill-fated health care plan, there are at least some Americans who are still big fans of the first lady, Hillary Rodham Clinton. They were in evidence Monday at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City Hotel in Arlington, Va., where 1,200 Jewish women who each give at least $5,000 a year to the United Jewish Appeal gathered.
