Astronomers have found preliminary evidence of a Jupiter-size planet -- and perhaps an entire planetary system -- that is much closer to Earth than any previously detected and that may be surprisingly similar to our own solar system. The announcement, made yesterday, prompted a spectrum of responses. "It's fantastic," said Alan P. Boss, an astrophysicist at Carnegie Institution of Washington.
