Henry D. Russell, 78, of Dover, a marine biologist and researcher, died unexpectedly Saturday in his home. Mr. Russell was born in Boston and graduated from Harvard in 1932. He received a master's degree in 1933 and a doctorate in 1940, both from Boston University. During his graduate work, Mr. Russell became associated with the Museum of Comparative Zoology at Harvard University and participated in four collecting expeditions to the West Indies from 1932 to 1942 with Harvard's Department of Mollusks.
