Henry Nordhoff has led Gen-Probe's ascent since the company spun-off from Chugai Pharmaceuticals in September 2002. That year, Gen-Probe had revenues of $156 million and net income of $13 million. In 2007, Gen-Probe expects total revenues of approximately $400 million and net income of about $80 million. Gen-Probe's market capitalization has increased 10-fold since the time of the spinoff, from about $350 million to $3.5 billion today, making the company one of the 10 most valuable in San Diego.
